The lifetime prevalence rate of any mental disorder among adults in the United States is estimated at nearly 50%, which means that 1 in 2 people will have intimate knowledge of how difficult it is to live with marked psychological pain. I have seen how powerful, effective therapeutic processes can be for a person and a person’s family. These experiences continue to motivate me to provide others with quality mental health care.
Throughout my career, I have helped others to manage anger, improve interpersonal effectiveness and relationships, mitigate symptoms associated with anxiety (in its many forms), depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, trauma, and addiction, and increase overall health and wellbeing. I have utilized several evidence-based approaches to aid in accomplishing these goals to include: cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, exposure-based therapies, and motivational interviewing. My philosophy in providing therapeutic services is incredibly holistic. In some instances (especially when considering those emerging adults who are struggling to thrive or “launch”), people may benefit from multiple providers delivering differentiated services, all working toward the ultimate goal of helping a person achieve happiness and fulfillment. Such a philosophy is why I have often worked alongside competent, passionate professionals from a multitude of disciplines. I believe that collaboration improves therapeutic outcomes.
Every person is unique, and it is challenging to comprehensively speak to the complexities of a therapeutic process on a website. If the information you have read on my website sparks even mild interest, curiosity, or motivation, please contact me. I would be more than happy to answer any questions that you may have about determining if there is a fit between what you are looking for and what I would be able to provide.
